SolarFlex 1320i-L: Components, Capabilities, and Specifications for 2024

The 2024 SolarFlex 1320i-L package combines 1,320 watts of roof-mounted solar, 540Ah of lithium battery capacity, and Victron inverter/charger technology to support camping without hookups. Available on 2024 Montana models, it provides power for onboard systems, outlets, and supported air-conditioning operation. Actual runtime depends on battery charge, sunlight, appliance demand, and system limits.

What Is Included in SolarFlex 1320i-L?

Also called SolarFlex Outlast Extreme 1320i-L, the 2024 package includes:

  • Six 220W solar panels and four CS3 solar cable splitters
  • Two 30A solar roof ports with MC4 connectors and 10 AWG MPPT solar charging circuits
  • Two 50A Victron SmartSolar MPPT controllers with Bluetooth connectivity
  • Two 270Ah Dragonfly heated lithium-ion batteries, providing 540Ah of combined capacity
  • Victron MultiPlus-II 2x120V inverter/charger, 3000VA class, with a built-in transfer switch and inverter-fed outlets
  • Two air conditioners equipped with soft starts
  • Victron SmartShunt battery monitor with Bluetooth connectivity
  • Victron GX Touch 50, a 5-inch color display
  • Victron Cerbo-S GX system communication and monitoring device
  • Zamp sidewall charge port with a 15A solar charging circuit

The solar panels collect energy, the charge controllers manage solar charging, and the batteries store energy for later use. The inverter converts battery power into AC power for connected equipment, while the monitoring components help owners track system operation.

What Can SolarFlex 1320i-L Power?

SolarFlex 1320i-L supports essential 12-volt systems and inverter-connected AC loads, giving owners more flexibility when camping away from shore power.

The package also supports air-conditioning operation within the installed system’s limits. Soft starts reduce air-conditioner startup demand, but air conditioning still uses substantial energy.

Keep these distinctions in mind:

  • Solar rating is not constant output: The panels’ combined 1,320W rating does not mean they produce that amount throughout the day. Shade, weather, sun angle, and other conditions affect collection.
  • Battery capacity does not establish a fixed runtime: How long 540Ah lasts depends on the equipment operating and the energy it consumes.
  • Connected outlets share available power: Inverter-fed outlets do not each receive the inverter’s full capacity independently.
  • High-demand appliances require planning: Running several large loads together may exceed available inverter or battery output.

Use the GX Touch display and battery monitor to compare consumption with charging and adjust appliance use accordingly.

How Does the Inverter Help With Limited Shore Power?

The Victron inverter/charger includes PowerAssist, which can supplement a limited shore-power source with battery energy when properly configured.

This helps manage demand that temporarily exceeds the selected AC input limit. It does not turn a household outlet into an unlimited 30-amp supply. Assistance depends on available battery energy and the inverter’s operating limits.

Solar and shore power can both contribute to charging when conditions and settings permit. When demand requires battery assistance, however, the batteries may discharge even while the RV remains plugged in.

Confirm the correct input-current limit and connection requirements before using a reduced-capacity power source.

Which 2024 RVs Offered SolarFlex 1320i-L?

For the 2024 model year, SolarFlex 1320i-L was offered exclusively on Montana models. Confirm the installed package on your individual RV rather than assuming every Montana has the same equipment.

Other packages in the 2024 SolarFlex lineup included:

  • SolarFlex Ready
  • SolarFlex Protect 220
  • SolarFlex Discover 440i
  • SolarFlex Outlast 660i-L

Can You Expand SolarFlex 1320i-L?

Add Solar Collection

Compatible Zamp portable solar panels can connect through the prewired sidewall port to supplement solar charging.

Confirm panel compatibility and charging requirements before connecting equipment. Additional collection can help replenish batteries, but charging performance remains dependent on sunlight and system capacity.

Add Battery Storage

The published expansion option includes additional Dragonfly Energy® heated lithium-ion batteries, KRV part number 653851, with a parallel cable kit through an authorized Keystone dealer.

Have the dealer confirm battery compatibility, installation requirements, and part availability before expanding the bank. More battery capacity can increase stored energy, but it does not increase the inverter’s output rating.
