To control your RV’s heating, air conditioning and ventilation through iN-Command, open the HVAC screen, select a zone, choose an operating mode and adjust the temperature and fan settings. You can make these changes through the wall-mounted Display Commander or a connected mobile app. Available controls depend on your RV’s installed equipment, so check the selected zone and heat source before adjusting settings.
From the main screen of the Display Commander (DC) or connected iN-Command app, select the HVAC icon.
This opens the climate controls for your RV. Screen layouts and navigation can vary by system version, but the main functions include selecting a zone, choosing a mode and adjusting the desired temperature.
If you are using the app, confirm that it is connected to your RV before making changes. The Display Commander provides another way to check the settings directly.
Each roof air conditioner in the demonstrated setup is assigned a zone. Selecting a zone lets you adjust the equipment associated with that area.
The demonstration shows three zones, but your RV may have a different configuration. Heating and ventilation options may also differ between zones.
Each zone displays two temperature readings:
For example, a set temperature of 72°F and a zone temperature of 78°F means the area is warmer than your selected target. Cooling operation also depends on the chosen mode and available power.
Use the zone navigation arrows on the Display Commander or the zone selector in the app to move between areas. Confirm the zone name or number before changing its settings.
Fan Only mode circulates air through the roof air conditioner without requesting cooling.
To use it:
In this mode, the fan runs continuously until you change the setting or turn it off. Moving air does not mean the air conditioner’s compressor is operating.
Fan Only is separate from a roof vent fan, which moves air through a roof opening.
If your RV has compatible power vent fans integrated with iN-Command, their controls appear in the applicable zone.
Under the Vent section:
Use only the options shown for your installation. A vent controlled by a separate wall switch or remote may not be connected to iN-Command.
The demonstrated system closes an integrated power vent when cooling is selected. Confirm whether your RV supports that function rather than assuming every vent will close automatically.
To cool an area:
Some systems offer Low, High and Auto fan options. Follow your system’s instructions for their operation.
Confirm that the RV has an adequate electrical supply for the air conditioners and other appliances being used. Selecting Cool on the screen does not establish that sufficient power is available.
Avoid repeatedly changing modes while waiting for cooling to begin. Follow the air conditioner’s instructions for any required startup or restart delay.
For an RV equipped with a propane furnace, the Gas Heat option appears in the zone assigned to that furnace.
To request furnace heat:
A furnace controlled from one zone may distribute heat throughout the RV through its ductwork. It does not necessarily heat only the area associated with that screen.
Follow the furnace’s operating instructions, including requirements for propane supply, electrical power and unobstructed airflow.
Some RVs have roof-mounted heat pumps or heat strips. These options appear only where the installed equipment and system configuration support them.
Select the appropriate zone, choose Heat, then use SOURCE to select Electric.
Electric heat delivered through the roof unit requires its fan to circulate warm air. Available fan choices may therefore differ from those shown for gas heat.
Heat pumps and heat strips are different devices, and their capabilities vary. Follow the equipment manual for operating limits, particularly in cold weather.
Auto mode allows a supported zone to switch between heating and cooling to maintain the selected temperature.
Select a zone with both functions, press MODE until Auto appears, then adjust the temperature and available source and fan settings.
Auto operating mode is different from an Auto fan setting. One controls heating and cooling selection; the other controls fan behavior.
Some installations can supplement electric heat with furnace heat when conditions require it. Do not assume a universal 30–60-minute changeover period. Timing and source-switching behavior depend on the installed HVAC equipment and controls.
Before programming a schedule, confirm that the correct zone, mode, temperature and heat source operate as expected.
If a feature is missing or a zone does not respond, consult the manual for your specific iN-Command system and HVAC equipment. Controls vary by model and floorplan.
