To operate your RV’s heating, air conditioning and ventilation through iN-Command, select HVAC on the Display Commander or connected mobile app, choose a zone and adjust its mode, temperature and fan settings. Each zone displays controls for its configured equipment. Check the selected zone and available heat source before making changes, since heating and ventilation options can differ throughout the RV.
From the main screen of the wall-mounted Display Commander (DC) or connected iN-Command app, select the HVAC icon.
The HVAC screen brings together the available climate controls for your RV. Depending on your installation, these may include:
Screen layouts and controls vary by iN-Command version. Use the instructions for your installed system if its menus differ from those described here.
Each roof air conditioner is assigned a zone in the demonstrated system. Use the navigation arrows or zone selector to choose the area you want to control.
Before changing settings, check the zone name or number. Adjusting one zone does not necessarily change the others.
Two temperature readings help you understand what the system is doing:
For example, if the zone reads 78°F and the set temperature is 72°F, the area is warmer than your target. The system’s response depends on the selected operating mode and available equipment.
The number of zones and available functions depend on your RV’s configuration.
Fan Only mode operates the roof air conditioner’s fan without requesting heating or cooling.
To use it:
The fan continues running until you change the mode or turn it off. Air moving through the ceiling outlets does not necessarily mean the air conditioner’s compressor is operating.
Fan Only mode is separate from the roof vent fan controls.
If compatible power vent fans are integrated with your iN-Command system, you can operate them from the Display Commander or app.
Select the appropriate zone, then use the VENT control to open or close the vent. Adjust the vent fan speed using its separate control.
On the installation shown in Keystone’s demonstration, an integrated power vent closes automatically when cooling is activated in that zone. Confirm whether your RV supports this feature, especially if some vents use independent switches or remotes.
To turn on cooling:
Depending on the system, fan choices may include Low, High and Auto. Follow your equipment’s instructions for how each setting operates.
Confirm that your electrical supply can support the air conditioners and other appliances being used. If cooling does not begin immediately, allow for any startup or restart delay specified by the air conditioner manufacturer.
The Gas Heat option appears in the zone assigned to the furnace. Although controlled through that zone, the furnace may distribute heat throughout the RV through its ductwork.
To request furnace heat:
The furnace has its own blower. Any roof air conditioner fan setting shown alongside gas heat should be used according to your system’s instructions.
Follow the furnace manual for propane supply, electrical power and airflow requirements.
Heat pumps or heat strips provide electric heating through compatible roof units. These options appear only in zones configured with that equipment.
Select the desired zone and choose Heat. Press SOURCE to switch from Gas to Electric, then adjust the temperature and available fan setting.
The roof unit’s fan must operate to circulate electric heat, so an Off fan setting may be unavailable.
Heat pumps and heat strips have different capabilities. Check the installed equipment’s operating limits rather than assuming either can replace furnace heat in every weather condition.
Auto mode allows a supported zone to switch between heating and cooling to maintain the selected temperature.
Auto mode and Auto fan are different settings. Auto mode manages heating and cooling selection; Auto fan controls fan behavior.
Some installations can use furnace heat to supplement electric heat. Changeover timing depends on the HVAC equipment and configuration, so do not assume gas heat will always start after 30–60 minutes.
After making adjustments, confirm the selected zone, mode, temperature and heat source on the screen.
If a control is missing or equipment does not respond, consult the manuals for your iN-Command system and installed HVAC components. Available functions vary by model and floorplan.
