How to Set Your RV’s Temperature and Schedule with iN-Command

You can program an iN-Command HVAC schedule through your RV’s Display Commander or compatible smartphone app. Select a zone, choose a temperature and start/stop times, then activate the schedule. On systems equipped with Mode B, you can also set a temperature for the hours outside that schedule instead of allowing the zone to turn off.

What Should You Check Before Setting a Schedule?

Confirm that your system’s date and time are correct, select the zone you want to control, and verify the appropriate HVAC operating mode. If using the app, make sure it is connected to your RV.

The instructions below apply to the interface with Schedule and Mode B controls. Screens, available features, and save buttons may vary by system and software version.

For the example below, the cooling schedule uses:

• Scheduled temperature: 66°F
• Start time: 5:30 PM
• Stop time: 10:30 PM
• Mode B temperature: 72°F

These are example settings, not recommended temperatures for every situation. A start time tells the system when to begin using the scheduled setting; it does not guarantee that the RV will reach that temperature by a particular time.

How Do You Set a Schedule on the Display Commander?

1. Select the Zone: Open the HVAC controls on the Display Commander and choose the zone you want to schedule.
2. Open the Schedule: Tap the Clock icon to access the schedule settings.
3. Set the Temperature and Times: Use the arrows to select your desired temperature, start time, and stop time. For this example, enter 66°F, 5:30 PM, and 10:30 PM.
4. Save the Settings: Press the Home icon, then tap Save when prompted.
5. Activate the Schedule: Tap the circle under Schedule, then select Dismiss. Confirm that the schedule indicator is illuminated and the start/stop times appear.

Repeat the process for other zones you want to schedule.

How Do You Set a Schedule in the App?

1. Select the Zone and Open the Schedule: Open the appropriate HVAC zone, then tap the Clock icon.
2. Set the Temperature: Use the temperature slider to choose your setting.
3. Choose Start and Stop Times: Tap Start, select the time, and press OK. Repeat for Stop.
4. Save and Activate: Tap the check mark, then tap the circle under Schedule and select Dismiss.

The illuminated schedule indicator and displayed times show that the schedule is enabled.

What Happens When the Scheduled Time Ends?

With the schedule enabled, it repeats daily. Without Mode B active, the zone turns off at the scheduled stop time and remains off until the next scheduled start time.

Mode B provides an alternate temperature setting outside the scheduled hours. It is an off-schedule setting, rather than a backup power source or protection against HVAC failure.

How Do You Set Mode B?

1. Open the Zone’s Settings: Return to the selected zone’s HVAC screen and locate the Mode B control.
2. Activate Mode B: Tap the circle under Mode B.
3. Choose the Temperature: Set the alternate temperature, such as 72°F.
4. Save: Use the check mark in the app or the Home icon and any save prompt on the Display Commander. Confirm that both the schedule and Mode B remain enabled.

With the example settings, the zone uses a 66°F cooling setpoint from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, then switches to a 72°F setpoint outside that period. Actual temperature depends on conditions and the HVAC equipment’s ability to reach the setting.

How Do You Turn Off or Change the Schedule?

To disable scheduling, tap the illuminated circle under Schedule. It will dim, and the scheduled times will disappear.

You can adjust HVAC settings through the Display Commander or app. After making changes, confirm whether scheduling remains enabled and which temperature setting is active.
